My husband and I began fostering horses for the Humane Society as soon as we were settled in. Both of us are horse people and feel lucky to have the chance to help animals who need nothing more than food, clean water and basic care. </span></span></span>We work very closely with the Coffee County Humane Society and Silver Nail Stables to help the rescued horses in this part of Tennessee.
I enjoy sewing, crocheting, knitting, making greeting cards and almost any type of craft. My latest thing is learning quilt making. I am starting a class for beginner quilters in February and can hardly wait to begin. The ladies at the Quilting Dreams in Tullahoma are so sweet and patient. They will answer any and all questions no matter how silly they are and believe me, as a beginner quilter I think I have asked them all, but you may think of some I have missed! Keep up with my challenges and successes on my blog.My latest adventure is a Brother 700II embroidery machine! Talk about fun! I am learning as I go since, being out in the country there aren't any classes I can go to. The company, Ken's Sewing Center in Muscle Shoals Alabama where I bought the machine has been great. I have called with all kinds of questions and wanting to know what is this and that and they always take the time to answer my questions.
| For the past couple of weeks we have been foster parents for Pakak (Inuit for "One who gets into everything") an Arctic fox who really does get into everything! The girls with Party Animals, Inc. wanted him to be socialized and learn to live with a family including cats and dogs. There is a big learning curve to deal with an exotic animal. Bob and the rest of the cats thought Packy was OK but Dumpling didn't want anything to do with him, she thought he was a pain! Packy has gone to live a his forever home in Knoxville, TN. I hope they enjoy him as much as we did. | ![]() |
